Daily bag of crisps could leave you a stone heavier

        People drastically underestimate the number of calories in their snacks, with experts warning that eating a bag of crisps every day could lead to a stone of weight gain in a year.

        英国慈善机构Nesta的一份报告显示,在2000名受访者中,约3/4的人低估了小幅减少的热量摄入对体重的影响。
        A survey of around 2,000 adults found that around three quarters underestimated the impact of a small reduction could have. One in ten believed that cutting 200 calories a day would not affect weight.
        同时,很多人似乎并不清楚自己吃的零食中到底有多少热量。
         
        根据Opinium发布的一项调查,尽管受访者对于自己所吃主食的热量含量估计基本正确,但他们对于零食中热量的估计值却与正确值相去甚远。
        When it came to snacks, people struggled, with 95 percent guessing that half a sharing bag of tortilla chips had 214 calories on average, almost half the true figure of 447.
        人们很难对零食中所含热量做出正确的估算。95%的受访者认为半袋油炸玉米片含有214卡路里热量。但实际上,这个估算值连实际值447的一半都不到。
         
        报道还指出,零食在英国家庭饮食中的占比逐年走高,疫情导致的封锁让民众摄入了更多的零食。
         
        总忍不住买零食?“食物环境”要背锅
         
        尽管我们都知道吃零食对健康无益,有时却还是会不自觉地用零食塞满购物车。不要总责怪自己自制力差,这个“锅”超市货架也得背一半。
         
        Nesta健康团队的负责人Hugo Harper表示,我们不应该把抵挡高热量零食诱惑的压力都给到消费者,我们的“食物环境”也需要做出改变。
        He said, "Our environment has a real impact on what we eat, from adverts and supermarket promotions to what's available in our local corner shop.
        他说:“周围环境实实在在地影响着我们的饮食,这些包括食品广告、超市促销活动、附近超市出售的食物等。”
        "If we had fewer cues to snack, or were pushed to buy fewer high calorie snacks, we should be able to see real change."
        “如果没有那么多东西诱导我们买零食,少一些高热量零食的推销,我们应该能看到很大的变化。”
         
        今年十月,英国将执行新的规定来构建一个更加健康的“食物环境”,禁止大型超市对高糖高脂高盐的食物进行促销活动。
        New rules coming into force in October will restrict promotions on foods high in fat, sugar and salt in big shops.
        超重、肥胖,标准到底是什么?
         
        在中国,“管住嘴、迈开腿”也是一个值得关注的话题——我国有超一半的成年人超重或肥胖。那么,胖不胖到底怎么衡量呢?
         
        ❶ 身体质量指数(BMI)
         
        身体质量指数(body mass index)是衡量你是否超重或肥胖的有效指标。它的计算方式为体重(kg)除以身高(m)的平方。
        Body mass index (BMI) is a simple index of weight-for-height that is commonly used to classify overweight and obesity in adults. It is defined as a person's weight in kilograms divided by the square of his height in meters (kg/m²).
        
         
        ❷ 腰围(Waistline)
         
        同时,我们也要提防腹型肥胖。不论BMI是否超标,只要男性腰围≥90cm、女性腰围≥85cm,就都应该注意起来,进行减脂了。
